Description
The Burris Droptine 3-9x40mm is arguably the best value-for-money rimfire scope on the market right now. While many people default to Vortex, the Droptine is a favorite among 10/22 owners because it is specifically engineered for the .22LR cartridge, rather than being a “downsized” centerfire scope.
Why this is a top-tier choice for a 10/22:
- Rimfire-Specific Parallax: Most centerfire scopes have parallax fixed at 100 yards. This rimfire model is fixed at 50 yards, which eliminates reticle “drift” at the distances where .22LR actually lives.
- Ballistic Plex .22 Reticle: The reticle isn’t just a crosshair; it has calibrated holdover points specifically for the trajectory of high-velocity .22LR rounds (like CCI Mini-Mags).
- Glass Quality: Burris uses “Hi-Lume” multicoated lenses. In side-by-side comparisons, it often edges out the Vortex Crossfire II in low-light clarity.
- Weight: At only 13 oz, it won’t make your 10/22 feel top-heavy or unbalanced.
